My name is, Shea and I am the owner of, Paw Prints For Life. I have been caring for pets my entire life. I have chosen pet sitting as a
career because of my deep love for animals of all kinds. My main belief
is that pets are truly members of the family, and they should be
treated as such. I have four dogs of my own: two boxers, Bruno and
Grace, and two shih tzus, Maddie and Kallie. They are truly like my
children. I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Karl, and a loving mother to four children: Emilie, 20, Corry, 18, Breanna, 16, and Karlie
is 9. They too are very much a BIG part of Paw Prints For Life!
started Paw Prints For Life, when we had a bad experience with a dog
boarding kennel. I looked for days trying to find the right kennel
for our Neapolitan Mastiff so, we could go out of town. Thinking I had
found the right one, I boarded him for four days. We had to pay extra
for play time, extra for outside walks, extra for a dog bed in his
kennel, and extra for them to give my dog his joint pills. When we
returned, it looked as if my dog had been traumatized - he was very
sad. He smelled very bad, and looked as if he had lost some weight,
too. The next day I noticed that he would not go to the bathroom, so I
took him to the vet and found out he had gotten a UTI. Not fun at
all. With that said, I thought to myself, I can not be the only person that has had a bad experience with a dog kennel. I then decided
to open my very own pet sitting business. I went in with the mindset
that I would truly treat other people's pets as though they were my own,
and NOT charge for all the extras that kennels charge. Now, I know
that not all kennels are bad, and that is not what I'm saying, but I do
know that I would much rather have a pet sitter, or board my dogs in an
in-home setting than an
actual dog kennel.
